This workshop focuses on supporting trauma survivors with PTSD and CPTSD who are in the early stages of their recovery, where the primary goals are stabilization and establishment of safety. It is particularly suited for beginner practitioners as it emphasizes the initial phase of trauma recovery, where body-focused approaches are most effective in creating safety and emotional stability. Experienced professionals also benefit from our workshops, as continuous learning is essential in our field. Such professionals will expand their toolkit with creative techniques and gain valuable self-care strategies to prevent secondary trauma impact.
All our courses are based on Herman’s Three-Stage Model of Trauma Recovery, with the first stage—Safety and Stabilization—being the most critical. Trauma survivors often experience symptoms ranging from hypervigilance, anger, and extreme emotions to pain, depression, and immobility. We explore methods to build resources for trauma sufferers, both external and internal, including coping strategies for managing their symptoms.
This course provides and suggests creative techniques to help clients enter the “window of tolerance.” Effective trauma work begins with making clients feel safe and helping them identify internal resources to manage their emotions. The focus is on creating emotional stability, preventing clients from being overwhelmed by their emotions, which allows for further trauma processing within the “window of tolerance.
