Our service is aimed at professionals working with people supporting BME community including Refugees and Asylum Seekers (RAS).
We provide Specialist Training, Consultancy and Supervision in relation to working cross culturally and with issues of class and the inevitable challenges this brings. The needs of BME Groups and RAS are complex and varied which means that no single Organisation can meet all their needs. Clients will need the Services of Advocacy, Health Services, Housing and many others. This requires a systemic approach and understanding of importance of multi-agency interventions where trauma aware approach can guide front line staff in resolving clients complex issues.

£140.00 - £175.00

Our Individual/Group Supervision and Consultation as well as Training are appropriate for anyone supporting clients with complex issues, not only Mental Health Professionals.
We explore the benefit to Statutory Agencies of building partnerships/liaising with the Third Sector and these are many. For example, the specialist knowledge and resources and connections the Third Sector has access to. However, this is clearly a two-way process whereby the third sector can benefit from information regarding the various organisational models adopted by Statutory Agencies.
Training is offered in relation to self-care which is an important part of our work. Enabling Organisations and their workers to be able to deliver an effective Service, both need to be resilient and effective. A key part of Training is to develop the ability to recognise and understand Vicarious Trauma, in addition to be able to guard against it where possible. If we neglect our self-care the consequences can mean our personal and work relationships becoming impacted negatively by Secondary Trauma, reducing our effectiveness and reducing workers inner resources.
Over a number of years, we have provided Psychological Services to the Black, Minority and Ethnic Community. Our interest in this work arising from the realisation that many workers and organisation find themselves in the position of working with this client group with little or no support. Equally refugees and asylum seekers may present for Therapeutic Services which can be very demanding work for the therapist and the organisations they belong to.
We have extensive experience of working cross-culturally, working providing one to one therapy to individual clients and also providing family work. We have extensive experience in providing Consultancy at Management level to Organisations working with this client group. This has been both on a one to one basis and as Consultancy Groups.
